Berman Remembrance Center

In 2006, the Mandell L. Berman Administration Building was opened on the grounds of Clover Hill Park providing patrons easy access to the cemetery staff. Dedicated to Mr. Mandell L. Berman (z"l) for his vision, service, and commitment to Clover Hill Park Cemetery and Congregation Shaarey Zedek for over 50 years.

In 2019, the the Mandell and Madeleine Berman Foundation generously supported an extensive renovation transforming the administration building into a family remembrance center.

Mandell L. Berman

z"l

Mandell “Bill” Berman (z"l) served on the Clover Hill Cemetery Board and a respected thought-leader at Congregation Shaarey Zedek. A native Detroiter, he was a leader in the housing industry and a well-known philanthropist. He served on more than a dozen boards, was a national leader in the Jewish community, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Many local agencies benefited greatly from his generosity. The Hillel at the University of Michigan, Berman Theater at the Jewish Community Center, and Berman Center for Jewish Education at Congregation Shaarey Zedek are all named for Mandell L. Berman. Mr. Berman passed away on December 21, 2016, at the age of 99.
